An Appointment with Dr. Dent

Chris has run his own panel beating company, Dr Dent, for almost 20 years now and says that there is so much work on offer in the industry, that he'll still be working on cars damaged in the December 2007 hailstorm in December 2008.

Dr Dent was founded by Chris when he was only 20 years old himself. The company has recently downsized slightly, and Chris offers a mobile service where he can either visit customers, or bring their vehicles to his home.

SkillsOne visits Chris Warwick, of Dr Dent, and we find out just what's involved in Dent repair!

Chris completed a panel beating apprenticeship at TAFE in his teens and then opened his own business at the ripe old age of 20. He was a very successful apprentice at the time.

He loves what he does and enjoys running his own business, although he admits there are added pressures in getting into business for yourself.

He says there are a lot of opportunities in the industry. Although more people have entered the industry in recent years, there is still a lot of work available.

Strangely there is a great opportunity to travel with this line of work.

While Chris is now married, and therefore limits his overseas trips, he's often invited to the US and other countries to help friends and business associates with their workloads.
