Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers
Australia's first industry-led, data-driven benchmark showcasing employers who are meaningfully investing in apprenticeships
About Top 100
Australia's first industry-led, data-driven benchmark and accreditation system
Launching in May 2026, the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers programme is a national showcase and benchmark that elevates employers who are meaningfully investing in apprenticeships. This is not an awards programme, it's a data-driven initiative designed to profile and recognise organisations making a real difference in building Australia's skilled workforce.
Using objective data from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and employer self-confirmation, we create a transparent, fair benchmark that highlights genuine commitment to apprenticeship training. The programme provides national visibility through media coverage, employer profiles, video content, and a co-branded benchmark brief.
Inclusion in the Top 100 signals to prospective apprentices, industry partners, and the broader community that your organisation is committed to excellence in skills development. It's a mark of distinction that attracts top talent, demonstrates industry leadership, and positions your business as a champion of Australia's apprenticeship system.
Why Become a Top 100 Employer?
Recognition that drives real business value and industry leadership
Ranking Criteria
For the inaugural 2026 programme, ranking is based on two objective measures over the prior 12 months
60% weighting
Number of new apprentices who commenced their training with your organisation over the prior 12 months.
This measure reflects your commitment to bringing new talent into the apprenticeship system and investing in the next generation of skilled workers.
40% weighting
Number of apprentices who successfully completed their qualifications with your organisation over the prior 12 months.
This measure demonstrates your ability to support apprentices through to successful completion, ensuring they gain the skills and qualifications needed for their careers.
Data Sources & Fairness
Rankings are determined using objective data from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and employer self-confirmation through a consent-based publication process.
Weightings are applied to maintain fairness across sectors and employer sizes. Small-cell suppression and banding are used where needed to protect privacy while ensuring transparency.
